Verzorging: Maansteen is een zachte steen. Er komen gemakkelijk krassen in en hij is zeer breekbaar. Met het onderhouden van de steen is het verstandig om chemicaliën, fel zonlicht en water zo veel mogelijk te vermijden. Wanneer de steen zijn glans verliest kan je deze opwrijven met een doek met eventueel wat olie erop. Maansteen kan bijzonder goed opgeladen worden in het maanlicht.
