Connecting us back to an era of legendary jam bands, we have the Gibson Warren Haynes Les Paul Standard. Warren Haynes, a prolific figure famous for his founding of Gov't Mule and his place in the ranks of Allman Brothers Band guitarists knows his way around a rock guitar. A link to an era of classic rock bygone, Warren Haynes is a testament to such an era's influence. With his signature Les Paul Standard, Haynes pens a testament of rock guitar equal parts retro and modern.

A self-described "Gibson man," Haynes has extensive experience and knowledge of the legendary guitar brand. It's with this expertise that his signature Les Paul Standard comes to form. This experience begins with a single-cutaway mahogany with a plain maple cap. A classic combo of woods, the Warren Haynes Les Paul Standard is decked in a '60s Cherry finish, like his prized 1961 Gibson ES-335. In hand, this combination of mahogany and plain maple makes for a classic body sound and feel.

For a real throwback of a playing experience, this Les Paul Standard features a mahogany neck shaped in a 50s Vintage profile. A chunkier, fuller feel in hand connects for a unique playing experience across the back of the entire neck, the way Haynes prefers his Les Pauls. Match this fuller neck with an Indian rosewood fingerboard lined with twenty-two Medium Jumbo frets and you've got a unique grip in the palm and a familiar feel across the fingers. Acrylic trapezoid inlays appear across this board for a classic visual element.

Where this signature Les Paul truly makes its mark is with its more modern electronics setup. Onboard, the Warren Haynes Les Paul Standard loads in two P-90 DC Soapbar pickups. These single-coils, specifically designed for a hum-free experience, retain the sonic nuances of vintage P-90s for an authentic sound. From here, this Les Paul Standard includes hand-wired Orange Drop capacitors for a rich tone shaping experience. This experience is bolstered by an onboard fifteen dB clean boost switch oriented among the tone and volume knobs. When flipped, this guitar will produce fifteen decibels of clean boost power driven by a quick-access battery compartment on the rear control cover. The guitar will still operate completely should the battery die by switching the boost toggle to the off position.

The Warren Haynes Les Paul Standard ties its experience together with a number of fine hardware specifications. An ABR-1 bridge and aluminum Stop Bar tailpiece land alongside a Graph Tech nut and Vintage Deluxe tuning machines for easy stringing and sturdy intonation across the whole scale. An included Gibson hardshell case comes with this Les Paul Standard for easy travels.

A veritable link to a legendary era for rock guitar, Warren Haynes imparts some real vintage wisdom with this signature Les Paul Standard. Fans of the guitarist or of guitars balancing retro and modern sensibilities need look no further for a reason to make a model like this theirs.

This book was a game changer for me…
Format: Paperback
I’ve attempted college twice. On my first attempt I ended up with a 1.8 GPA which resulted in academic probation and a fair amount of tears. I took an almost ten year long hiatus thinking college wasn’t for me before trying again. Except this second time I knew I had to do something different, and that’s when I picked up this book. On my second attempt I ended up with a 3.9 GPA upon graduation and also felt I didn’t have to work myself to the bone to get those grades. I found the chapters on note taking and time management to be particularly useful. While it’s true that my success also had to do with some maturity I had gained over ten years, this book gave me the tools and a system that helped me immensely. It not only helped me academically, but taught me how to “work smarter, not harder.” In short, get the book. You won’t regret spending the money on it.

Another fun wlw paranormal romance from this author
Format: Kindle
Another fun wlw urban fantasy, shifter romance. This time we get to know Heather from the first book better along with her fated mate, V. It was nice to have some enby rep in this genre. Always want to see more people represented in characters that I read. Unfortunately the transphobia that was represented was pretty realistic as well. Good to see some familiar faces as well with Wren and Natalie as well as Rias popping up. The romance between Heather and V is instalove, as it is a fated mates situation. However, Heather has a lot of internal demons to battle. I really felt like her struggles were pretty indicative of someone who has experienced trauma from abuse and neglect. Seeing her internal dialogue go back and forth, knowing that she was self-sabotaging, felt very real. Thankfully, V sees her strength hiding behind her struggles and just falls more in love with her. There is no third act breakup. Not really. There is a point where Heather pushes V away, but she is ready to go back to them and work through her struggles when werewolf drama ensues. The ending, seeing Wren's pack grow is great. And there is obvious plotlines introduced at the very end for any upcoming books.

enjoyable werewolf story
Format: Kindle
It's Heather's turn to be in the spotlight this time, with new character V, in a story that covers mental health, acceptance, and of course finding true love. Finding your true mate can be a wonderful experience, as well as claiming each other, but what follows after can be a challenging experience, especially when other factors in life decide to interfere. Like Pack of Her Own, there is a lot of action in this story, along with lots of cute moments, and Heather and V make a wonderful pair, even with their insecurities. Seeing them stand up for each other is just great as well. Of course seeing Wren and Natalie again was an added bonus, and if there is a third book I'd love to see all of the characters again as well. Mate of Her Own is a highly enjoyable story, engaging and engrossing, and I loved the tale it told. It was good seeing certain aspects of toxic wolf culture being called out, and Wren doing her best to create a pack that doesn't adhere to the norms (especially considering that she didn't want her own pack, but well, with the ending of the previous book, she doesn't have a lot of choice). It is a great shifter tale, and I do hope to see more in this series.
